Can anyone give me tips on buck Gardner calls?
« on: February 28, 2013, 05:11:17 PM »
Hey guys I'm 17 and had a pretty good waterfowl season last year using an old wood duck call a buck Gardner whistle and a magnum honker call! I got 155 ducks and 4 geese but I just bought 3 buck Gardner calls at cabelas and can't get a good tone from them. The calls are fowl mouth 2 double reed mallard call, baby buck duck call and a grey ghost goose call! Any tips would be helpful! Thanks guys!

I bought a buck nasty or something a year ago, it's acrylic with a poly instert. It had good reviews and was relatively inexpensive. I cannot for the life of me make that thing decent enough to try and call ducks with. Way way to raspy and nasaly. And it is way too loud. Anyway, I guess I can't really help you but I have a few echo calls. A meat hanger and the coco bolo wood poly timber. They are great calls, and I think I'll stick with them.

I've had good results from Buck's stuff... I have the Reactor, the Kryptonite, and the Workin Man Goose. The one thing about the goose call is that it takes a LOT of air to roll that thing over. But, sorry I've never used or heard the ones you mentioned. Try adjusting the air pressure a little differently and see haw the call reacts. Maybe they just need to be tuned?  :dunno:

I got one about 5 years ago and I hated it! You're welcome for helping  :chuckle: :sry:
