I'm curious what kind of groups you guys shoot at 40,50,60 and 70 yds and what your happy with?

I would say that consistently shooting 1 inch groups for every ten yards 7 inch at 70... etc. Is a pretty good goal.

that's a good rule for most bow hunters.  Target shooters will not be happy with a 7 inch group at 70 yards.

I personally do not try and shoot much past 50..thats practice.  I hunting situations, I go to 45 yards max.  I would say I can do about a 4 inch group at 45 yards.

Pretty much my rule of thumb. An inch @ 100yds is MOA w/rifle. An inch per 10yds with a bow would probably compare.

I don't shoot groups.  I got tired of breaking arrows.  A 7" group at 70 yards is not acceptable for my personal taste, more like 3".  :dunno:  I know far too many guys who think that a 9" group at 30 yards is "good enough".  I won't hunt with guys like that.

I will grab my bow at day break and take one arrow to take one shot at a 3-d target, a cold shot.......that tells me where Im at before hunting season, or at any time for that matter.

I shoot more than most guys I know, and Ive ruined way too many arrows......I practice elevated shots alot as I have a 20ft+ bank behind my shop and I take several shots from there at varying distances......

I wouldn't be comfortable shooting at an animal unless I could get a 4 or 5 inch group, max, at whatever range the animal is at.  That said, my 40 yard groups are typically around 3 inches and around 5 or 6 inches at 60.  That all depends on how often I shoot.  Right now, I haven't shot for months so I'm sure my 60 yard groups would be quite a bit worse.

I usually shoot one arrow at a time but I don't shoot past 50yrds. But I have a playing card group at 50. But I don't shoot at the same target on my block I hate breaking nocks.

Shooting long distance has really helped my groups.  My 40 yard groups (hunting range) got much smaller when I started shooting at 60.
