h20hunter: I went back out on Sunday (9-1)... saw this fresh peel right on the side of the road on one of the spots I PM'd you last week (the more northern one). I had to take this crappy phone pic, as I forgot my camera battery. This was real fresh, only a day or two old.
There was no new activity on the other set of peels I told you about. After a bit of walking, found another set of 3-4 trees peels (again only 50 yards off the road), so I moved my camera to there.
For both big groups of peels I've found, I've had luck walking the roads... looking for a glimpse of one tree from the road, then working back in to find the rest.

Thanks for the update...I'm thinking Wed evening may be a good time to head in and look around for myself. If you have any interest in going along just send me a message. I'm always up for a drive. I would say if we go we simply cut a deck to see who carries the rifle. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the offer... I'll need to check my schedule for Wed. If I can't make it, I'll PM you gps info.
This is the area I moved my cam to... it's a "bit" more open than the previous spot (the other was growing over with salmonberries), but you can get a sense of how much slash there is from when it was thinned. Like I said in my post on the other thread... this stuff is 2-3 feet deep and a pain to walk through.

Thanks....I'll give it a go Wed and wee if I can't break an ankle or at least find some new peels.

I'll check with the Mrs to make sure I have a clear calender. What time were you thinking?

Hopefully he appreciates you gesture and declines.
Such was the case. He mentioned a "few" incidents so I may not have been the only one. I wonder if picking up elk sheds is a no no.
I have never hunted an area that had so many GD blackberries choking everything up.... Salmonberries I can moderately deal with but geeze these blackberries are rough. I might try to get out Thursday morning and during the day.

Lokidog.....If I find a nice shed I'll be picking that baby up! Yep....the blackberrys get to be like a wall. However, when you shoot a bear that has belly stuffed with them in the fall it makes for some nice tasty meat.
Ripper....I'm usually ready to roll out around 5:30....only about a 15 minute drive from the house so I'm flexible on time.
