Nah, I moved it from where we placed it.  Back to the fork, then veer left towards the bridge, I had 1 spot before the bridge to the left and one across the bridge.

I'll post up a pic of where I was talking about in a few....gotta get it off the phone. You may remember this stretch.....you, Frank, and I walked it. It forks and the left goes to the bowl, the right curves down and around a little bit. Here is the pic. It was just dead silence.

I'm headed out for ling this afternoon, but Friday-Sunday I'm free if you want an extra set of eyes along.  I can show you the spot where I got all my bear pics on the cam last year if you are interested, it's not far from there.  Lemme know.

Before the bridge...on the left....that is where the cool buck was hanging out with the FJ on Monday. Some area that needs to be further explored after the bridge on the left.

I've been in there and had a cam up in there (as well as seen a couple other's cams).  It's nice, good water access and lots of huckleberries and blackberries!  If you are heading out there lemme know, I think I left a folding chair up there last late archery season...

I was out for a stroll the other day, doing some coyote hunting and some early season bear scouting and I ran into the craziest thing...

H20Hunter ACTUALLY hunting.  Odd, I know.  I was looking for his kokanee rod, his ling cod gear, his pink FJ... surprisingly I found none of that.  I think it was his first legit bear hunt of the spring season.

He's trying (kind of, but not really).  Here is photo evidence to liven the thread.

Looks like a small gun your packing there H20.  What do you shoot?

Love that rifle.....Ruger M77 .270. Trigger breaks like a dry stick of spaghetti....light weight....and will shoot nickle sized groups IF i do my job. Current bear medicine is 150gr Barnes.....forget my fps....handloaded.

Yep....last years bear was shot with the Hornady Interlock....it did a hell of a job. However, as you know, they are designed to come apart. This year the brush is already thick and lush. With wet conditions and the green growing by the foot per week I want to put Mr. Bear down DRT. I'm looking for that high shoulder drop 'em where they stand broadside shot. The Barnes will give me max penetration.

I'm pretty sure the only bullet that MIGHT not work great to kill a bear around here under 300 yards where most all shots are taken from is a full metal jacket bullet.  Its not like we're hunting rhinos here, if you hit it where you're supposed to, any bullet that expands should work just fine.

I use federal factory loads in whatever they have on the shelf at that point in time.  At shots under 200 yards i pattern inside 3" regardless and the area I'm aiming for is bigger than that.  Never had a problem.

Next up in the "my bullets are better than yours category": Exploding bear-buster (see: bunker buster) bullets for max penetration and expansion.

I agree. Main reason I grabbed the Barnes this year is they were handy and already loaded. First shot at the range from a cold barrell to check zero nicked the X....said that will work just fine and here I am.

Oh....and of course my bullet/caliber is better than yours! Granted...I would like to shoot a bear with your little black rifle as well.
