It's all private in those areas. If you don't already have access to private land to hunt, then I would advise you pick another unit that has more public land.

 :yeah:

There are a few small patches in 127 that I found that are public, and will probably be hit by everyone else who didn't scout and has the audacity to knock on doors on opening morning--camo, orange, and all.  Save yourself some embarrassment and don't do that.

I went over in the late summer and asked five different landowners for permission.  All said yes, and a few specifically thanked me for coming long before hunting season.

If you're hell bent on hunting Mica Peak, consider a permit from Inland Empire Paper Company.  The tresspass fee is rather modest, and you've got good odds at a bear while you're at those deer/elk.

not to be a downer, but really your chances of having any fun on a hut over here is screwed. high fuel prices mean that every hunter from spokane is gonna plug up the local stuff.......it will be a mad house. not meant to discourage, gods honest truth.

I agree. If you don't have an "in" by now I say things look bleak. You'd better get over here quick and start knocking and scouting.

I agree with everything above.  I am not looking forward to it this year.  With the economy as it is, I can just see that I am going to have a ton of trespass issues on our property this year. Last year was not too bad, and the guys that did stumble across the line were very apologetic when talked to.  Most were lost and trying to find there way down the ridge the easy way, which just hapens to be all posted as private.  I appreciat the guy that asks for permission, and when crosses over accidentally, has the decency to apologize and ask for help.

:( :'( :dunno: :bash: :bdid: :ACRY: :iamwithstupid:

that aut summs up my new feelings for hunting over there.darn it.  yes the econimey will hurt hunters and there travel to there usual spots.  I am likemost of you and knock well b4 the opener.  deer spots covered that way when I was over in spokane for school.  elk hunting was a little diffrent.thank you for the bad news.  it is actulelya life saver.  opening day and not hunting at day light is not a good start.  i have a 86 ffor 35c that gets 12 mpg.  not the best g to go 800 mi round trip for a wasted trip.  I might just ee where on the west side I can hunt.  it is all my fault that i do not have a honey hole locked up by last weeek.  i have not gone out and scoued an walked the peverbial twenty country miles for my dues this year.
thank you for all the help.  i would rather know that i would be screwed now than on the 23 of oct.
