Russell Gear
« on: February 04, 2013, 09:56:55 AM »
I just wanted to share my experience with Russell Gear's customer service  I have heard rumors that they are getting out of the hunting clothing business. Not sure if that is true or if it has anything to do with my response.  Anyway, I had a set of the APXg2 and the pant crotch started to rip out after wearing it just a few times and here is my trail of emails with the rep.

messageBox: Hello, I purchased the Zephyr pant last year and they did not make it through one hunting season and the crotch has started to rip out. Please let me know if you have some sort of warranty that will cover the repair or replacement of these pants. Thank you,  Conrad

Response
Mr. Conrad,

We don't have any inventory with which to replace the pants you have.  We apologize for that inconvenience.  We could possibly repair the pants depending on the size and nature of the rip at the crotch.  If you would, reply to this email with a photo of the affected area.

Thanks for writing.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.  Here are pictures of the pants. Let me know if it is something you can repair.

Thank you,

Conrad

Response
Mr. Conrad,

Thanks for sharing the photos.  The affected area is not something that we can repair, unfortunately.  I've received a recommendation from guy that oversees such matters.  He said that a fusible patch would likely reduce the chance that the affected area wouldn't become worse.  You can get those types of patches at most fabric stores.

Thanks for writing.
