Possibly got hung up in a barbwire fence?
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

It really is an unknown but, I would not rule out a rifle shot.

If u look close at 3rd pic. Its not intestines,  but the leg is kicked up and the remains are dangling.  You can see what appears to be the hoof at the bottom.  :twocents:

I used to see a 3 legged doe in the Nanum.  I saw it 3 years in a row.

There was a nice buck were we used to hunt with bows out on Ft. Lewis, that had his left front leg shot off with an arrow when he was a spike. Smartest deer out there after that. He died of old age as a big 4 point.

Hey elkslayer, is this guy still alive?

Not sure if he is still alive or not. I did alot of hiking around the area and never found him so it's possible. I will get a trail cam back up in the next few weeks and see if he shows up again.

Amazing picture, I bet that he is still alive.  That is one heck of a prosthetic though.  It looks like he outlasted infection but eventually it seems like the bone would rot off and he will probably end up as dinner in the woods.

Few years ago we were staying on some property of a friends out by Curlew. We hunted some state land nearby. Anyway...we kept seeing a doe with two yearlings. Greg, the land owner said she lost a leg to an illegal trap, survived, and was living just fine. She had been that way for at least three years and had one to two fawns each year since then.
