It would be for me, but you should handle it yourself.  I never thought I would like a TH for hunting, on the bench it is GREAT, but for hunting I really thought it would bother me a bit... Well that feeling is long gone, a couple of hunting trips with a TH cured the whole problem...

Keep shooting muzzleloaders - They are a blast!!

They are 699 at bobs. Sabotloader do you know if they ate going to make the ultralight with the thumb hole stock in the near future? Kinda got used to it with the disc.

Ya!, you an I both - I really want a thumbhole!  At this time there has been no mention of a TH but, I can not believe down the road that is not going to happen.  It is really expensive for them to request a new stock mold.... BUT it has got to happen - then of course you could drop the ULite in your Extreme Thumbhole.
But then it wouldn't be an ultralight. :chuckle:

OK you are right so then I amend my request.. I want them to build a Kevlar Ultra-Lite Thumbhole Stock... that would really be cool!!! :chuckle:

Looking at Sportsman Warehouse today the Disc Extreme came with a thumbhole but only for right handed shooters. I'm left handed and as far as they knew the thumbhole is not available from Knight in left handed. Does anyone know for sure if that is true?

They do have one Left handed thumbhole... But it is a fancy wood laminate.  It is listed as a Mountaineer Stock but it will fit a Extreme.

If you are or have been using a regular stock - it might be best to stay put...

The Ultra-Lite stock is truly built to be right or left handed...

OK... no left thumbhole made for the Bighorn... but...... the Extreme stock just might fit on a Big Horn - but it would have extra cut outs... for the bolt...

This is a MK-85 (basically the same as a Big Horn) installed in a DISC Extreme - Thumbhole stock.  I shot it this way for several weeks before I got a RHTH made for the Big Horn.

All the pictures i see of the left handed wood option of the disc extreme always still has the bolt being on the right.  :dunno: Is this just them showing the wrong picture or is the thumb hole for the left hand but the bolt still on the right?

You are correct... they do not change the bolt only the stock.  I think but I do not know.... they have never changed the bolt to the other side basically because there are no speed repetitive shots.

So anyway I really do not know why other than cost of each unit would be awful big because of the few that might be sold.

Sabotloader, that is a nice Ultralite!  I just received my Mountaineer set up for Northwest, and am sure excited to get to the range.  One question I have now, how do you like the NECG peep?  It looks like you have Weaver rails, and the receiver sight mounts on the rear one.  Then you can use QC mounts to swap in a scope for target shooting, or shooting in enlightened states?  That is what I have been thinking of doing too.

Yep, I copied Sabotloader's setup also.  :chuckle:  He's already done the homework. Check out the thread "Ultralight conversion" which is pretty recent.  He really breaks it down there.
