the old codger
«

I know for a fact I'm a tough old codger and that darned stroke Is Not Going to keep me down!
I'm getting stronger every day. I am now up to taking walks of 1 1/2 miles (with lots of rest periods), I have also been practicing with my cameras and progressively bigger lenses.
Yesterday we went out on some local nature trails for a photo safari and exercise. I packed my camera with the 400 mm telephoto lens.
I was a bit shaky with it so I had to use a monopod. I took this photo of an American Bald Eagle (my Mascot and inspiration to get stronger
)
the photo isn't one of my Best photos, but I'm Working to get back to my old self.

Welcome back GPR. Love your shots. The weather is great this week, so I'm hoping you'll be out there soaking it up!

One of my nephews gave me a fantastic compliment yesterday that I never expected or thought about until then.
He reminded me of something my Dad had done many years ago. My Dad had a massive heart attack, two weeks later he was out on a Scaffold painting his 2 story house by hand and by himself while all of us kids were at work. My nephew said "You come from a long line of Tough Ancestors that Never Gave Up, so it is in your nature and genes to do the same as them, and be as tough as them!"
You could have knocked me over with a feather!

Hang in there is took me over a year to get back to 1/2 of what I was before my stroke only to have a second one, I'll probably never get back to the hike all day and not get tired but this past winter yote hunting 5 and 6 miles per day hunting were morale boosters. Keep exercising and a positive attitude

Thanks for the kind words Jingles.
I hope that your recovery goes as fast as mine has been going!
Here's an Eagle photo I took on Sunday.
Not bad for a shaky old codger with a 400mm. lens!
