.45 ACP Bullet Molds

Since bullets are hard to come by at this time, I thought I would just start making my own.  I have been looking at Lee vs. Lyman.  It seems Lee is about half the cost  is that due to steel mold vs. aluminum or how does that work?
Any recommendations on what feeds good through the Kimbers?

Looking at running maybe 7gr. of unique in the case for some target shooting.

I have never made my own bullets but I always wondered why people would mold 230gr V. 200gr.  You might as well mold the 200gr SWC and save some money as that is the reason to go through the hassle to begin with, right?  As long as you know how to correctly load LSWC, I would go that route and save some money.

Read through this forum, I've gotten a lot of good info out of it.

Don't worry about measuring OAL.  Make sure there is about a thumbnail's amount of lead over the case mouth and crimp so that it is a smooth transition from lead to brass.  You don't want to be able to feel any "bump" at all going from lead to brass.  You want a little bit of lead above the case mouth so that the lead is what hits the ramp as it feeds into the chamber.  I haven't found a .45, 1911's/plastic gun that won't run these loaded this way.
