1st Robin Hood

Well I was pulling my hair out with some of my inconsistency with my bow the last couple of months (since I had a new string put on).  Well I've started educating myself on bow tuning and I took three practics shots at 20 yards after I had just finished paper tuning my bow.  This is what happened.  This is also my first picture posted so I hope it turns out.

Cool beans!  Those have eluded me for 22+ years of bowhunting.  I shoot all year long but have never done that.  Congrats!

I hate it when that happens!

I no longer shoot for groups inside 40yds because arrows are getting too darn expensive! Between damaged knocks, torn fletches, and ruined shafts...it's too expensive!

Now that your bow is dialed in, I might suggest the same to you!

I barrowed my father in laws bow and did it two times in four weeks.  I quit shooting inside 35yds.   I did it the last time at 60 yards.  it was great but it ruined 40 bucks.

Thanks guys, and definitely Bscman I am now moving my shots around the target.    It was just such a relief to get dialed back in again.  I was pulling my hair out and getting really frustrated with my shots.  I've ordered a book and a video and I am really getting into learning about bow repair/maintenance.  I now see how important it is to know your own equipment and how to repair it because that way you know for sure it's gonna be set up properly.  This has been my fourth season bowhunting and I'm glad I've gotten the courage to start doing things myself.  The problem I had was so much conflicting information on the internet.  Just from the several websites I went to that discussed papertuning I was getting different info.  It has been a frustrating process but well worth the work.

That's even worse...
So even when you don't robinhood, you still shave all the fletches off. 
I did have twice yesterday! With BRAND NEW arrows!

I got one a few months back with a friend of mines bow.  I put a new string on for him and wanted to go out and put a few arrows through it before I put the peep in.  I forgot to mention that he's a south paw and I'm a righty.  On my 3rd shot I heard that familiar sound, sure enough I had robin hooded one of his arrows.  When he came over to pick up his bow, I confessed that I ruined one of his arrows.  He thought it was cool except for the fact that he's been shooting 10 yrs longer than me and had never had one?  It does give me a good chance to heckle him a little especially since I was shooting from the wrong side.

congrats, that was fun when I was younger because my dad was buying the arrows!!   but I have not shot more then one arrow into the same target in many years, that would be a expensive daily occurrence and I dont have the income to keep buying 15 dollar arrows.....
