Phelps Turkery Calls ... review
« on: March 28, 2013, 06:52:36 AM »
I seen Phelps new Turkey calls on here so i wanted to try them out and see if they would have the sounds and tones and be user friendly for my turkey bag...  I had in mind if i didnt like them i would just throw them in my pile of calls that i DONT bring with me,  However my first impression was there very sharp looking calls, The first one i tested out was the slate, i sanded the glass down to a good scratching surface to get that sweet spot and my first impression was this call scratches great and the tones were perfect, and the purs sounded great, I was very impressed with it..   Then i tested out the mouth reeds and again right off the bat it had great tones and it didnt take no time at all to break in to get the sounds and tones i was looking for.. Its easy to cut and yelp with..   I would say overall the calls are of quality and what i liked user freindly with great sounds...  So i am going to give them a go this year!...  Sweet calls Phelps, im impressed!..

I couldn't agree more out of the mouth reeds. I like mine and with the 6 different reeds you have a lot of range in them.

Thanks Corey and Mike.  I hope they assist in putting a couple longbeards in your laps.

Hopefully I can get some birds for the youth hunters next weekend. That's real nice to be able to say next weekend. Getting real close.
