Nobody touched on this yet. When I first got my first handgun I was denied. At kitsap county level. Turned out when I left one night and the crazy ex got pissed she called 911 and said I hit her. The cops were there when I returned and took me in on DV.

Coarse it never happened so we went to court and she admitted lying. Problem was kitsap never changed my file to dismissed completely. They fixed it and I had my gun.

Ever had a dismissed DV, assault, DUI ect?

That's good to know in general, but no, not even as much as a speeding ticket lol.
She lies, Shes had a speeding ticket. I was there.  :chuckle: It was dropped in federal court though before we evend up. haha

Haha which means I don't have one  :dunno:
Arent you supposed to be drinking wine? Not hanging out on HW!  :yike:

Lol I'm the DD, my cucumber water is boring and this is informative ;) but yes yes swaying off topic!

Denied Firearm Transfer?
« Reply #61 on: March 28, 2013, 08:59:47 PM »
I still think it is Smossy's fault. :sry: :IBCOOL: :dunno:
How does that even make sense? lol If we were married I could see there being a potential problem, sure. If if that was the case, There are still LEGAL ways that she can go about and have a secured firearm, as long as I had no access, I.e. fingerprint safes and or It wasn't in MY household..
Why in my right mind, would I want to go back to prison for even touching a firearm? I refuse to even hold them in store's when gentlemen over the counter try to hand them to me because they think I'm the decision maker for my woman. Shes a big girl. She can do and make her own decisions. I have nothing to do with it. Like many people have stated. It could be just a simple mistake.
Im out to better myself, Not make a fool of myself like 75% of other people with a background like mine, Thanks for trying to kick a guy while hes down though.

Don't let one guy get to you.

NOBODY is perfect, but some folks get judgmental.

Just remember the good folks you've met, and as you've said several times you've turned it around.

Congrats to you!

Remember that for every one of  "those" posts, there are people like RadSav that you were good enough to thank publicly.

P.S.   I just heard one commentator (who doesn't want drug users incarcerated) say that out last three presidents were just lucky they never got caught.....    Kind of struck me.

Now, on with Smossy's Girl's issue:      It had to be........................

P.S.   I "quoted" the wrong one.

It looked like Ghosthunter was just trying to be funny......   At least it looks like something I'd try to do to be funny.   Sorry about that, GH.    :sry:
Im not sure myself. So my reply was genuine. I don't see why my background would have anything to do with it. I seen the other persons "lowrange" or whatever's post only because it was quoted by someone else. Which that was very inappropriate.
Sounds like some people expect others that have done wrong in they're life to continue down that path like its some written rule..I should just go out robbing stores and committing murders, and doing lots of drugs or something? wth. Nope, sorry Im not your minority. But that makes me a "piece of poo? lol I actually learned from my time and plan on changing my life for the better.   :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

Well I can tell you why your background would have something to do with it.  If the county somehow knows you two are acquaintances they could see it as a potential avenue for a felon to get their hands on a firearm and it is their job to prevent that.  And honestly it doesn't seem far fetched to think that you could get your hands on your girlfriends gun.  However it seems unlikely that the county would know if you don't share the same address or last name, so it's a mystery why they would stop the transfer, unless its just random, which happens a lot. I traded a rifle in my name for another one at a gunshop and had to wait a week to get the new one.

This happens more often than you would think--Sometimes the word never gets passed along from one agency to another.  It doesn't sound like this is the case, however.  I would be going to the county, finding out who denied the app for no reason, and take the matter to a superior there.  If the denial was groundless, I think I would be threatening to take legal action against the county if the problem isn't rectified.  Why should the FBI say you can have a gun, and someone working in a County office say you can't?  And how many others have had this crap pulled on them, too?
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I held a high Security Clearance in the Navy, never had an issue with buying a gun or getting my Concealed Carry Permit

Even so. I have no care for firearms any longer. Not that it makes a difference. I cant hate on anyone for doing they're job but there is no legal/documented connection between the two of us. I consider bear mace far more effective anyhow.

sad that it took
You will get it worked out. Go put the gun on layaway. Cabelas has no issue with that. They won't run paperwork till the layaway is paid in full.

They wouldn't let me pay a dime on it until the paperwork came back, then when I talked to him a second time after they said I was denied, I asked him if he would hold it until I could figure it out and he said he would for three days but "other employees might not get the memo and might put it back on the shelf"... I guess I'm more sad that it took me forever to even find this gun lol... I'm in love with it.

Don't waste time arguing with the minimum-wage morons.  Call the main office of Cabelas ant explain the situation.  I'll bet the word would come down to hold the gun.  Can you guess that I don't tolerate "authority figures" very well?  ;)

It has nothing to do with Cabelas, they are only passing the information from the local authorities. Theyt aren't told why there was a denial, just the fact it was denied.

If the gun is a hard one to find, putting it on lay-away is a good plan...Paperwork doesn't get sent through until you pick it up. You have 60 days.

Your security clearance would not hinder you. IF you have never been arrested or charged with assault or other serious crimes this would most likely be a clerical error
