Thanks again you all for the information--I really had NO idea that there were badgers about.  I should get out to Bateman's Island and look.  (I have always been to afraid of the rattly snakes to walk much in the sage...)

Cool critter.     Just something that crossed my mind:  blowing on calls from your truck is a great way to educate coyotes.
Correct, but this was in a no hunting area, and I was at work. My employer frowns on carrying firearms.......and I thought getting the badger up close was worth more to me than educating some yotes, at the time...

Very cool and x10 to you being in your truck. We have a good population around here. Some are not as crazy as others. The thing I hate is when you bump into them in the tall alfalfa or tall grass. Never know which way to run :chuckle: It's amazing how fast they are.

Did you know he was there or were you calling blind?
I knew he was there, he crossed the road ahead of me.

Great that you got to photograph a badger!  I love the 3rd pic.
We saw one in the alkali one time deer hunting, followed him untill he got tired of us then he turned around and wanted to chew some azz. We left him alone at that point, it looks like your in the alkali? I wish we could have shot him, nice looking animals.
What is "the Alkali"?  I have never heard an area referred to as that before.  Is it a local nickname for some spot?

Look at the claws in the last picture there like talons. Great pictures  Only one I have ever seen in Washington was across the river from Brewster.

Awesome pics there!!!  Way cool.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
