CVA ELHORN

Does anybody know if the CVA Elkhorn Pro, which is a bolt action muzzleloader, is legal in Washington State?

I just did a google search and it would appear not. It's a 209 primer gun and even has an ejector claw in the bolt to remove the spent primer so my take would be that it is not convertible to #11 or musket cap. Sorry.

Actually I have that exact gun. I can change my nipple to any of the three(musket, 209 or #11. Eventhough it has the bolt with ejector it is completely open and exposed to elements. So to answer your question, yes it is legal but not with the 209 nipple.

It is a great shooter too. I like it better than my TC Black Diamond. Mine has the 28" barrel and a Monte Carlo stock. I love it.

I stand corrected. It indeed appears that there are legal nipples. I just saw one at Sportsmans Warehouse and the guy behind the counter didn't know if it was legal. I may just go back and tell him! LOL

The last time I was at Sportsmans Warehouse here in Spokane they had all of the CVA breechplugs in the clearance bin for like 3 or 4 buck a pop. These are the same guns as the old Winchester X150, which are very accurate. Good luck to all of you guys.
