Really sad that holding a fish out of water has a penalty that could include 1/4 of a year in jail.  Meanwhile, tweekers and burglars roam the streets with their 2 years probation as a 'tough sentence'.

There is obviously more to this than holding a fish out of the water for a photo!

You guys are pathetic. You guys know nothing about this, and you are posting stuff like this....

I don't know who you're calling pathetic or why, but in case you missed it, BH45 has posted the whole story multiple times on here. I can get links if you need. All of the stories were posted, to his credit, for everyone to see.

I have read every story BH45 has posted. There is a possibility that there is more behind this, but to say there IS more that BH45/his son did (calling BH45 a lier) when they do not know the story is stupid.

Whats stupid is making a comment like this and assuming that nobody else knows more to the story.

I believe that the 90 days 1k fine is the standard MAXIMUM penalty for a misdemeanor.     They don't want anyone in jail that they don't have to put there. BTW the only thing the Skagit jail is currently taking are felons, DUI or Underinfluence druggies... It is quite likely that a $2-300 tax will be imposed on your kid.

 

This is exactly correct. The judge is required to tell you what you are facing. If you get busted for no fishing license the judge will say the exact same thing, doesn't mean you are getting anything close to that. If you get busted for underage drinking the judge has to say $5K and 364 days in jail, because that is the max.

I have never been in trouble with the law. 

This thread makes me pay even more attention to the details when out fishing or hunting so I am not on the wrong side of the law.
