My new Tasco

Well I haven't got too many pictures yet with the new Tasco, but I've had it out for 4 weeks and I'm pretty happy with it. It's withstood the weather, been easy on the batteries, and takes pictures when something walks by. What more can I ask for? I really like the small size and that it only takes 4 AA batteries. This is the camera that Bushnell gave me in exchange under warranty for the other Tasco I had that fogged up the first day I put it out in the woods. That was a white flash cam and I wasn't sure about the IR cam they gave me in exchange. But now I think this will be one of my best trail cams, even though I won't get color pictures at night.

I had it on an elk trail, hoping for pictures of some bulls, but all I got were these deer:

Yea I agree. These Tascos I think are the best deal out there. I have 4 of them now, and all 4 have been out since last spring. I have one that has water inside the view screen, and still working fine. The trigger speed is equal to my trophy cam, and I think the pictures are identical.

The pictures I posted aren't the greatest, but it's mostly due to the setup. It's on a steep hill, looking down the hill where three trail merge together. Like I said, my intent was to catch the elk,  but they for some reason haven't gone that way again for the last 3 or 4 weeks. It's not easy without some sort of bait.

I only use bait in my pasture. I don't want to pack it out. I just set mine up like you have here. Maybe I'll tweek the cam a bit after checking it. I probably don't get as many pics as guys with bait, but I still feel like i'm seeing whats in that area.

Which tasco is that bobcat?

It's the tiny one that takes 4 AA batteries, 5 megapixels, infrared. I can't remember the model number. I saw them for sale somewhere for $80. It's actually a great camera for trails, with no bait, because of the fast trigger. It's very similar to one of the Bushnell's, maybe even the same, I'm not sure. But Tasco and Bushnell are basically the same company.

I was wandering about that guy. I don't know. None of my deer look like that. They are shedding, but not like that. As far as I know there isn't any hair loss around here yet.

You probably already use them, but the lithium batteries are the way togo. Especially with the tascos. The battery termials on them are kinda cheezy. Less wear and tear with longer lasting batteries.

I don't think it is natural shedding. It only appears to be in areas where the deer can bite/chew itself.
In pic s 4 & 5 there are 3 deer, two of which have the same issue. One looks fine.
