When I took this set to Lacey Taxidermy, Dale set them with a 20 inch spread. They looked horrible.

He had mounted the dead buck so he knew they were only about 15 inches. I had to take the mounted buck to him so he could match the sheds exactly.

I missed this blackie during the rifle season, I was using my t/c 30-06 pistol, after missing I left it at home the rest of the season. I went back to the area in Jan and found one of his sheds, two weeks later I found the other side and had zach at Rainier taxidermy put them on a plaque.

thats a Toad!!!! and zach does awesome work ive knowwn him my whole life lol were neighbors

He would be a great neighbor to have, I hope he gives you a discount  :chuckle:. He's a great guy and a top notch taxidermist.

Here are some of my bigger BT sheds, as you can see the critters found a few of them first.
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

I found this shed at around 5,000' elevation. Unreal a deer would be up that high at that time of year. Had to have been 15'+ of snow there when he dropped. It's 17" tall and when matched up with the pedicle of my widest blacktail is a dead match. So roughly 24" wide. Pure blacktails in this area.
Very nice true Blacktail, like how tall that guy is and looks like he has a club for a pedicle!
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

Holy cow Ty! What a load of bone. I may take a pic of the shed I posted up next to my widest buck for perspective.

I received this picture in a text 4 years ago. I don't know much about it except a friend of a friend found it near Vancouver. I saved it on my phone as I thought it was very unique.

Do it, I like seeing the Blacktails you've taken regardless.
