Very good news. With the boats that we presently have, there is room for 62 soldiers. We have 57 on the list so far. As soon as we can accommodate all of the soldiers, we will need to find two boats that can be used for the photography/video and medical response team........

Thanks for the update Randy on the boat and soldier count. I am so glad we have had so many good fishermen and their boats step up and make this day a winning combination.

I was thinking KOMO4 TV does a lot of stuff on special events, do you think we should see if they would give us a little Saturday morning coverage ?

Here is a thought, even though I'll be fishing with Cohoho I could bring my boat if there is someone to captain it for the photography crew or medical staff, it's a 21' Glasply with a Yamaha 115 and T-8 kicker both run super...? Just a thought in case the need comes up !!

I will do my best to keep everyone updated as far as warriors and boats go. Generous offer robodad. We may or may not need it. I will keep it on my radar.
I think if Spokane and Walla Walla come through as thought, this event will be at 100 warriors in no time at all. I still predict a waiting list.
We will see........The boats keep coming in slow and steady. A very good response by all. You are all champions!

I forgot to address the media piece you were speaking about. Rob Endsley and Tom Nelson are and have been handling the media so far. I think the most effective way to see if they want to add another piece is to ping them on The Outdoor Line forum. I think it would need their approval to happen....... Just my  :twocents:

Ok guys and girls - come on let's get the boats registered for this great event.  And of course any of guys or girls on the site that are in the category of wounded veteran/warriors of OIF and/or OEF come out get on board for the trip, we'd love to hear your stories and have a fun day...  You deserve a fun and stress free day.....  Those of you that have volunteered, hats off to you for sure...

In the next few weeks The Outdoor Line will be talking about the event in length! Salmon for Soldiers will light up for sure! We are getting some good momentum at the right time here. Just signed up another boat this morning. Welcome to Team Squid from the 49' Anakai! Thanks so much for your patriotism! See you on the water....

Hi All
Just to let you know that on Monday my wife and I will be traveling to Seattle for two very important reasons. First, we will be attending the final swearing in for our grandson in the Army! We are all very proud of him and wish him all the best as yet another defender of our country.
Secondly, we will be moving on to the Seattle Veterans Administration to visit with the OEF/OIF/OND social work and clinical care counselor to get them a bit more involved in the Salmon for Soldiers event.
Take care and chat soon...

Good Morning Stalker......Yes, we are still in need of boats for the event. Presently there are 29 confirmed registrations in hand with a few on the way in. We project that we will need 50 to pull this off. That includes one support boat for medical response and one boat for the video/camera crew......
You can hit me up on my email and I will send you the sign up sheet..... cabincreekadventures@yahoo.com or you can call me at 425.330.0415
Thanks for everything
Randy

Do we need to reserve space on the dock if we are going to overnight?  If so, who do we contact?

My plan is to arrive the day before, get a little practice in, drop some crab pots for the guys to pull the next day, and hopefully be able to meet up with you great folks from Hunt Wa!
