Clockum cow tags increased quite a bit!?
« on: April 19, 2013, 08:29:52 AM »
Anyone else notice how much they increased the cow tags for clockum this year? Last year was 50 for eastern archery, this year its 140....not including all the tags for modern firearm....

Just an interesting side note....

They are letting us hunters harvest some before all the wolves eat them.

I drew it last year (got one), and will put in again this year....just seemed like a large increase to me. I know the bull/cow ratio is crazy off over there....maybe they will adjust it again next year.

Big increase over the first 50 last year, I'll put in for that cow permit! Not my first choice in my hunt, but worth the tag.

With all the bulls killed after hunting season it has put the bull/cow ratio out of whack, they need to reduce the cow numbers to balance it back out.

ya is that the reason. cause there are not many bulls and so many cows? If they have more cows taken and that makes the cow to bull ratio look better then they can say they have done there job?? Only 2 bull archery tags.. :bash: :bash: GOOD LORD!! I am glad that there are more cow permits and yes I will be entering but what only 4 permits for bulls in all categories. FRUSTRATION

:yeah: winner. Terrific elk habitat, minuscule tag number, yet no bulls. Hum?
