With the permission of Dale, I am going to try to get the Joshua Cup going again, and all funds will be distributed to Aarons kids.   For those of you not knowing what this is, we will talk about it elsewhere as soon as Administration and I hash it out.   Its a charity/contest we have hosted several times.   I can't think of a better reason for this charity than this.

I'm in. Let me know what I need to do.

My prayers and condolences go out to the family.

Only knew him from his posts and banter with other members on various subjects but he will be missed.
I can only imagine the type of person he was but i remember a post he made of a parody of top gun and how it made me laugh.

I can't put into words the guilt that I feel.  Aaron was always goof ball.  Ever since we were little I was always the responsible one.  I always took it upon myself to look over and protect my brothers.  Had to make sure Aaron didn't walk off a cliff while staring at a butterfly or something while hunting lol.  I know there was nothing I could have done but the guilt I feel for not being there to protect him like I should have done is tearing me up.  I struggled with this same guilt when my little brother was there last year and now its back 10 fold.  -karl

Hope they send some good, experienced people for the funeral detail. Have done quite a few while on training bubbles, is always an honor.

I hope you'll soon realize that having an older brother like you and the rest of your family is what made him a man who was patriotic enough to fight for his country in spite of the dangers that presented. In all of his posts, you could tell that his patriotism was fierce and his resolve was intense. He didn't just make that stuff up one day. The people like you who had influence on his early life gave that to him to turn him into the brave man he became. You can be proud not only of your lost brother, but of how you looked after him and of the example you set that helped him be the man he was.

As a Pastor, I have been involved in in a lot of memorial services, but when it is someone you know or a fellow brother in arms, it is never easy.  The video that was posted in this thread, if you watch it, make sure you got your hanky with you!

My heart goes out to you BLRman, and to your family!  May God bless you and comfort you and give the strength to carry on.

Prayers, thoughts and sympathies are with you, Aaron's wife and son, and the rest of yours and her families.  May God help you find peace through this difficult time.

Thank you everyone, I truly mean that.  Thank you Doug for the offer also.  The thing about Aaron is he never slowed down for one second!  He was so passionate about every single thing he did in life.  I think everyone probably already knew that though by his novel like post's and number crunching that would make a math professors head spin. lol.   I just bought his tags and permit apps yesterday as his birthday present.  Not sure what to do now.  Maybe we will put in together one last time. I don't know.  I don't know much of anything right know.

Wow, that brought a tear to my eye. I say put in with him!
You know the *censored*s of the thing is he never drew a bull tag in this state!  He loved elk more than anyone I ever knew and he wanted desperately to draw a tag and kill a bull!  I promised him before he left that when he got his ass back safe that i would take him to colorado and get him a bull and to hell with waiting on washington.  We talked about that hunt a lot in the last month or so.  I spent all monday and tuesday doing research on some colorado units.  I really wanted to get it dialed in and make sure it was a successful hunt.  He just wanted to kill a good bull.

Just an idea but I think you should do the Colorado hunt for him with his bow.  Kill the bull he would of wanted to kill with his bow and when the time is right give that  bow to his Son.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours.

Scott

This kind of made me laugh because he was my big brother not the other way around.
