Pre framed elk mount
« on: October 07, 2008, 01:34:14 PM »
My little brother found this elk last month while we were hunting...too bad it was spike only.

Then my dad ended up seeing it a few days later, got the video footage...some of you fools might see it during Modern Firearm...

Anywho, he has a wooden frame around his neck...enjoy! :chuckle:

the unit was spike only...not the animal, otherwise I would have stabbed a 5pt to death with my knife.

What the hell?  Wonder how or why that happened?  That is just strange.

Thanks for sharing that video, that's classic.  A tree farmer I know get a bunch of elk on his property.  Years ago he had one running around with a Christmas tree stuck in it's antlers.  However that's not half as funny as the one he told me he saw running around with a lawn chair stuck in it's rack.

I've help collar elk a few times and I've never seen a collar like that!  He must have gotten his head through it when he shed his antlers, maybe down on winter range around a barn or something.  Obviously he's used to it.

I was thinking it was part of a feeder or something like that.  :)
