Been with Randy on Rampage (westport sport fishing charters) -great skipper (not the funniest guy) who can locate fish .....however there is never guarantees and the occasional "Should have been here yesterday -we were killing them "happens sometimes no matter how hard you try
also been with some others .......haven't had bad experience .
Everyone thinks that I'm freak ,I don't look different do I ?

The Slammer, we limited out last year in no time on Lings and Sea Bass. One gal caught a 65lb halibut to top off the day!

If you want straight bottom fishing, GO NOW.  The earlier in the season the better.  I was out on the Hula Girl in late march and we just tattooed the lings.  One mid-high 20#'er was caught, several 'teeners.  Limits of lings and rockfish for everybody.  Jason, the deckhand, and Steve, the captain, are both great hosts and will make sure you have a great trip.

X3 - I'm not a fan of charter boats but the Hula Girl is one of the best.   I've done Tuna, Salmon and bottom fish on her.

It is! I have probably been on it 10 times myself, and many of my friends have been on it multiple times, and the only time that not everyone on the boat got a limit was on a salmon trip......luckily I wasn't one of those people who didn't get a limit  :chuckle: Besides that, we have had limits every time and many derby winners

June 8 - 22:  limit is 2 hatchery kings
June 23 on:  limit is 2, only one of which can be a king.  Release wild coho.

Here's the link to the regs if you want to check it out.  Westport is Marine Area 2:   http://wdfw.wa.gov/publications/01500/wdfw01500.pdf

Tough call...the two kings is tempting, but might make for a frustrating day releasing all the wild kings and ALL the coho waiting for those two clipped fish.  The fish numbers and weather also improve the later you go.

I've only fished Westport once, a few years ago. We fished on the Silver Duchess captained by D. Moss, I wouldn't recommend eiher, the boat was the slowest in the fleet and since I have nothing good to say about the capt. I'll leave it at that. :twocents:
 Good luck.

Looks like im getting to go bottomfish/ling or salmon/bottomfish for my birthday present.  I havent been in nearly 20yrs, any suggestions on boat and best time to go?

:yike: 20 years.....yikes. I have withdrawls is I dont fish for 20 days...

I would go with Mark Coleman, All rivers Guide Service. He runs a smaller boat but that way your not on a big charter with 20 people you dont know puking all over your shoes.. :twocents:

haha! it is a long time ! dunno why exactly.  i will check them out as soon as my computer recharges.  i would prefer a sixpack boat or like, as its a little more of a personal experience.

The slammer through deep sea charters is probably one of my favorites. Good people. Lots of group photos/fish photos.
