Small Game Hunts
« on: June 16, 2013, 11:19:39 AM »
Hey everyone.  I am looking for a place or places that are good for sniping crows, yotes, possum, etc.  I am located in the Marysville area.  If anyone needs some of these animals removed let me know.  Thanks in advance.

Pickup an Atlas and Gazateer and BLM maps and get out and do some scouting.  Crow season doesn't open until Sept. 1.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

...year round if they are in the "act of depredation". (Aren't they always?)

This came up a few weeks ago in a hunters ed class.
They told us that they were informed by enforcement that unless you make a living off your crops the "act of depredation" does not count. If you have a small farm or orchard that is for family or hobby it would be against the law.  :dunno:

That is BS I eat what I grow and a farmer makes $$$ to eat, what the hell is the diff? Sounds like a cop interpreting the law again and not the courts.

I doubt if a warden is going to ticket you for shooting a crow in your strawberry patch but if you go out to the local public area and try and tell the warden you were killing crows to protect the duck hatch it might be a different story.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I have several large cherry trees... I use them every year for food, a single crow can decimate an entire tree in one afternoon... I have killed several crows out of my trees... This misnomer that you must be a farmer is garbage.  Why are there so many cops out there that try to interpret law? The act as if they ARE the law, and not the ones out there to ENFORCE the laws...
