M99 358 cal, Sav. M219 22 Hornet
« on: June 07, 2013, 04:29:08 PM »
Went to a friends place today to look at a couple guns he inherited. One was a nice Model 99 in 358cal and the other was a Sav. M. 219 in 22 Hornet. I know the 99 is probably worth a few bucks but I don't know anything about the M.219 other then it needs an extractor and it should be good to go. Anyone know a website to find out the age (serial number) and value of the 99 and the 219? Looked all over on the 219 for a serial number but couldn't find one anywhere. Thanks

That 99 isn't worth chit.  Just to do him a favor, I'll trade him my old Rem 870 12 guage with the splintered forearm and a yellow Ruger cable lock that came with my 10/22 that I can't find the keys for.
Offer good only today.  :chuckle:

Hahahahaa! Ya know I was just thinkin I coulda swore it was a Winchester but they didn't make a 99 so I guess it's a Savage 99 and a 219. Might have to go and edit my post.

The Savage 99 can be worth quite a bit near a grand if in good condition.

Go here for all the info you need on Savages.

The 219 is not real collectable but are great shooter, prices are going up though.

Here's a pic of mine, sub MOA in great condition, the older ones do not have serial number.

Nice looking rifle! His look's exactly like that but had a little fixed power scope on it and an old one at that. The 99 is pristine.

i don't think you could find a better west side rifle than a 99 in .358.  would love to have one.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
