rimrock here i come
« on: June 20, 2013, 06:14:36 AM »
Well, it happened. I got drawn for an any bull tag in October in the rim rock gmu.  It was my forth choice so i have never spent any time over there, but can't wait to have explore it. I couldn't be any more pumped right now. I'd probably head over next week but i have this other obligation next week. I'm getting married in the Dominican republic. Once that is over with though this will be the best summer and longest ever 8) all that being said, if anybody has a favorite area i would love to hear about it. whether it be short and dirty ridge, Conrad Meadows beat creek  whatever it may be, it sure would be appreciated. Also if you drew the tag and wasn't to scout together let me know. Thanks people have a great day

I did not draw a tag but am willing to help you scout the area. Nothing like getting out in the woods with the camera.

For the record, this offer goes out to anyone that would like some help scouting.

I drew this tag also! Pretty dang tootin excited. I've hunted all around that area but never much in the Rimrock unit itself. I plan on spending time over there this summer getting to know it. The thing I like about this unit is the ability to get HIGH if you want to, something a lot of those other units don't offer. Went through all my stuff last night and got the boots greased up again and put together my scouting pack so its ready at a moments notice when my opportunity comes to hit the dirt.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

See y'all there!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Congrats Seatown and 7MM!  Its a great tag.  I'm over there during archery season every year and know the area well.  Bulls are there, from down low to up high.  Stay in touch and I'll tell you where the bulls are hiding after archery season, as I didn't draw a Bull tag this year.

I'm actually going to try and get over there this weekend to set up some of my cameras at tree stand sites that I already know are consistent cow elk producers.

Take care,

ET

Well looks like I'll be in good company this year. My son & I also drew a Bull tag for modern.  Keep a look out for a Black Dodge ram with a "Coyote Madness" logo on it. Stop me and say hello.  Maybe we can get together and scout during the summer. Good luck to all that drew

Good luck!!  Great unit and some dandy bulls in there, hope you in good shape?  Where in the Dominican are you getting married??  I worked in Santo Domingo, Bavaro, La Romana, Juan Dolio, Boca Chica for 5-6 years.
