The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

I have yet to draw the tag, but been in a couple times with friends that have. Can't wait until I draw, don't have to try too hard to get away from people. Call me crazy but I love that country.

You'll get away from 3/4 of the people.  But not all of them.

I was shocked last year- there were people everywhere in there!  Some pretty tough dudes hunting the bottom all got nice bulls... but they earned them!  I have helped 3 guys in the shed and last year was the first time I have seen so much pressure deep in the unit.

This guy is in damn good a shape but it still will be the hardest hunt of his life. I have two other friends thay hunted it last year and the advice they told me to give was to shoot a bull no later than the third day. He said because all the pressure last year that by the third day most the elk had been pushed out. So Brett you better talk him in to not waiting to long.

That's good advice, though I don't think the elk leave the unit, they just quit wandering across open hillsides!  There are some thickets in there that hide them pretty well.  We passed on elk last year and ended up eating the tag.  Feet problems will ruin the hunt... MAKE SURE YOU TRAIN FOR SERIOUS SIDE HILLING!!!!!!

Not true.
.

:yeah:  The watershed is such a huge area majority of the elk never leave it. The only time they even leave is late winter when bulls are shedding out. They rarely leave
