Were you fishing the Samish?  If so, wasn't there a no stationary gear rule in effect due to the jig-plunking snaggers?

This quote is what makes your technique the same as the dudes using jigs: "and let it sit there until one picks them up."  Law says your gear has to be moving.  You say that it wasn't moving.  I'm not sure what you are confused about?

since this is a humpy year and I love curing humpy eggs for kings I am inviting at least 2 of u to come up and hang with BH45 for a day ! BUT I must warn you that your chances of meeting a warden are 100% ....any takers ??

Sounds good to me. Let me know. I just like to have fish on the end of my line, Like I've said before. I'm not real picky.

Set your bobber so your gear isn't sitting on the bottom.  I guaranty it will move, even if only from the wind or the slight current that still exists at low tide.

Let me point out that flossing is not illegal  as long as the fish is hooked in the head or in the mouth they can not prove you were snagging ...I learned all this from watching it all go down last year ....according to them , the whole river was guilty

Snagging: Attempting to take fish with a hook and line in such a way that the fish does not voluntarily take the hook(s) in its mouth.

If the hook flosses through the fish's mouth then the fish is not voluntarily taking the hook

the hook will typically be on the outside of the mouth. out of all the salmon/steelhead ive hooked on presentations like jig, bait, ect. none that come to mind were hooked on the outside of the mouth. i have caught fish on corkies corkies/yarn and flies that were hooked outside of the mouth. given the techniques that make fish more or less have to bite all being hooked inside the mouth i can only assume fish hooked outside the mouth are flossed except the oddball here or there.

As long as the hook is in a legal location,....FISH ON!            I like to reel salmon in and eat them. Playing a game with athe fish is no more important to me than if a buck decides to run into my bullet or i have to force it into him. Same with elk and my arrows.  Someone elses made up ethics dont apply to everyone else. If its legal, go try it and slay some fish. You pay enough to harvest some meat.

I've caught a far number of steelhead hooked outside-in when fishing a pink worm.  I think they bite the middle of it and get hooked on the outside in the process.
