 :nono:
the hook will typically be on the outside of the mouth. out of all the salmon/steelhead ive hooked on presentations like jig, bait, ect. none that come to mind were hooked on the outside of the mouth. i have caught fish on corkies corkies/yarn and flies that were hooked outside of the mouth. given the techniques that make fish more or less have to bite all being hooked inside the mouth i can only assume fish hooked outside the mouth are flossed except the oddball here or there.

I've caught a far number of steelhead hooked outside-in when fishing a pink worm.  I think they bite the middle of it and get hooked on the outside in the process.
:nono: we do not continue without Bh45 getting in his  :twocents: all the rules they keep coming with just makes me want to quit ...pretty sad a guy can not go and enjoy catching fish and taking a couple home to eat ...Trying accuse fishermen of jigging is total ------. Oups can not even use that word now  sometimes a fish will hit the bait and you jerk and you end up jerking it away from him and then you end up foul hooking him ....I have a problem with it all and all the rules they continue to come up with just over a flipping fish ...if you are using a treble hook with a sinker below it then I will call you a jigger ...but with a single hook I can not agree with them writing anyone a ticket unless they actually witnessed it ...there are others on the river who could of easily fouled hook a fish you caught and no way of proving anything unless the see it for themselves !

Now for another story out of my book  :chuckle: :chuckle: My son is fishing yesterday and the only thing you will catch right now is sockeye ..maybe if your super lucky you will hook into a summer run steelhead ...but not likely ...So he catches a couple comer's yesterday ...all he is playing by the book now since he got a $250 fine a 8 hrs community service over his last issue  :dunno: :chuckle: So he catches a sockeye and is playing it out ...once he gets it to sure he reaches down with a pair of pliers  and cuts it loose ...He then turns around an  :yike: :dunno: a warden is standing behind him the whole time and he never knew he was there  :o :bdid:  He (the warden ) says to Teddy ...Very good job on that release ....I told you we can not hide from them  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I ALSO LOVE HOW YOU GUYS SPLIT when I show up to the party  :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :hello:

I foul hook (snag) at least half of the dogfish that I catch but I do release all of them.  That doesn’t make me a flosser does it?

That's too bad Teddy has to follow the rules now that he has been caught.

Dogfish is what they use in england in replacement for cod. :dunno:
Dogfish I wouldnt touch, Ive caught enough of them to know how rancid the meat smells, Smells like amonia. :puke:
The shark fishermen always use them for bait down at the piers, I usually just hand them over to those guys.

-   That’s because they piss through their skin.  I hear that if you soak them in vinegar for a couple of days they taste OK.
