Need info on editing go pro videos
« on: June 30, 2013, 09:43:06 PM »
I picked up a go pro hero 3 and I have never edited video before. Any info on what programs to use would be appreciated.

Also what setting do you prefer for videoing with your go pro

you're supposed to be able to use the cineform editing software from the gopro website. I downloaded it and it isn't setup to edit videos from the hero3. You have to download and update and it still won't work with the 1080p vids from mine. I'm curious what software to use also.

Cineform Studios and Basic Windows Live Movie Maker are about all I use right now. None of my machines are quick enough for the fancy software. Those 2 cover the basics and will get done what I do with my videos. Windows Live Movie Maker is actually pretty nice and real easy to use. Only things I wish It had was being able to do video in video. Oh well.
Make sure to pick up a class 10 SD card.
Some People will say It doesn't matter but with 1080 hd and large video sizes at sometimes 100mb per minute of video.
I beg to differ. They're not too spendy. 32gig class 10 on sale for like $25 at walmart when I got mine.

Here's the link

It was actually developed and updated revolving more around the Hero 3, I wonder what the issue is with yours..

Heres a thread to a video, showing what you can do with just those two basic programs I named earlier.

This one also has some other random facts/links.

For now, the Cineform software only do conversion.  There's talks about a new version that will do editing coming up.

On the PC, you can use many softwares to do editing.  You can try Sony Vegas Studio to see if you like it not.
