Appreciate all the ideas guys, also thanks Tommygun, 10 to 20 grains I would feel pretty comfortable with.

I've got this friend, and, uh, he may have done this more than once, and, well, he happens to know this  works just fine...

Modified to add: as mentioned above, after you dribble in the powder, ram it home! Says my friend, anyway.

I wonder who that may be?

lol, didn't even think of your gun... so now I have a real friend and an imaginary one that knows this works

Cool, thanks Hangfire, because blowing my Hawkins up in my face is generally known as a bad thing I hear.  :yike:

Good to know that your "friend" and friend, have done this with no issues.  :chuckle:

Oh, and Jackmaster, I use a mixture that is called Hawg Wash.  Equal parts Murphy's Oil Soap, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Rubbing Alcohol.  Seems to work very well.

MagKarl, that is the correct nipple size, and may have to go that route, I will keep posted here on the results.

Well, got that sucker outta there.  Kind of took Stevemiller's idea.  Set the bullet extractor to as deep as it would go, put in on the longest rugged aluminum ramrod I have, attached a variable speed cordless drill on the end and was able to use that to bore through the polymer tip and into the SST projectile.

If that had not worked, then was going to go with using a compressor, then on to actually putting powder in as a last resort.

I would have tried slamming the muzzle onto the sidewalk until the bullet dropped out. :chuckle: But I guess your idea was almost as good.

That thought crossed my mind, but the sidewalk is rather new and I didn't want to risk chipping it
