Not because of strategic budget cuts.....
No.....because trout eat salmon eggs.
I hate WDFW.
And perhaps their most ridiculous decision ever is to try and turn the Cowlitz into a wild fish sanctuary.
I'd love to know how many "wild" salmon spawn in Skate creek. Probably none.
They are probably more concerned with the Skate Creek trout ending up in the lake and preying on salmon smolts, which is ridiculous because Mayfield is planted with trout and filled with other predator species.
Don't discount that it could indeed be "strategic budget cuts" under the snow job saving wild salmon.
Just another example of "management" by reducing opportunity.
