Ya it was obviously someone not familiar with how many boats troll that water. Sirmissalot guessed right with the caves at sekiu, not a place for pots whether they were there first or not. We missed the three that had visible bouys just not the sunken one. It must have jinx'd us cuz we didnt get a keeper all day, well we quit before noon due to family plans. Lots of shaker kings. Lost one nice one and saw some caught by others. Didnt go out deeper for coho or pinks so cant say how that is. Hoping to go to neah bay this weekend and try swiftsure if the ocean settles down. Oodles of big red jellyfish in front of the caves to the point of messing with your gear when they slide down your line and cables.nwhunter

Really?  I don't see any "waaaaing" going on.  Just another knowledgable angler dealing with all the *censored* idiots out there.  It's really discouraging these days how many clueless idiots there really are. :twocents:

Yup really
what next ?
go on the internet and complain about the big boat wake, heck no you
deal with it, you see crab pots in your troll path, swing wide away from them.
I don't condone it or like it either, I just accept it and deal with it.

Interesting dilemma....

I'm interested in hearing how some of you think these type of things should be resolved when both user groups have a legal right to do what they're doing.

I don't think just saying it's a fishing spot means you get priority over the crabbers......   Although I'd rather fish.

Yeah, I exercised my constitutional right to crab wherever I d*** well please, so what?
To heck with the several hundred fisherman in the spot who will have to fish around my sunken bouy/line. Who cares about them anyway? Ain't this 'merica?

Next I'm heading down to the Columbia- I like to troll right in front of the most popular plunking bars!

I know lots of people who don't know any better. They don't fish, just go cabbing so they would not know the popular trolling areas. Annoying yes buut I bet most fisherman wouldn't do that, the crabbers just don't know any better

I truly think most of them don't realize what they are doing.

Some of you just don't get it. The line off a crab pot doesn't hang perfectly straight, I don't care how perfectly weighted it is, it's going to have a good angle on it especially in most of these productive spots. The straights can have 5 knots of current. If it was as simple as going around a buoy I would agree with many of you but it's not. That one person crabbing in a popular fishing spot could screw up hundreds of other people, and will probably still end up losing their pot then complain that someone stole it! This isn't about crabbers vs fishermen, most fishermen are crabbers and most crabbers are fishermen. You guys saying we are crying about this are probably the same guys coming on here complaining someone pooped in the middle of the landing in your favorite spot. Hey, they were there first! SMH.

jeez... deal with it and fish.  Try fishing Westport in close off the casino for kings.  Sunken crab pots are just a part of the game.
