Apples
« on: July 09, 2013, 10:28:13 AM »
I recently had my supply of apples taken down. I had a neighbor with some trees. My question is, where do you get your apples for elk and deer? Do you go to the store and buy some, ask the produce guy, neighbors....? Any help is appreciatted.

My girlfriend works for a fruit company so I am lucky and have an endless supply of apples.  If you get a chance, drive over to Eastern Washington and talk to some of the fruit companies about their culls. Some will sell them to you for pretty cheap.

I grew up with a lot of apple trees in the front yard, side yard, back yard.  Not a big fan of apples anymore unless in a pie.  Apple overkill as a kid.

If you see some property with apple trees knock on the door and ask they may be willing to let you take as many as you can carry,  we always did,  less mess in the fall.

Or if you have 3 foster kids in your home all under the age of 4, then time can be an issue as well. I just wanna make the most of what very little time I will have this year
