trainers
« on: October 18, 2008, 07:43:49 AM »
Hello all,
I am pretty new to this sight and love it so far.  There seems to be a lot of very knowledgeable people here.  I have a 1 year old male GSP that I picked up not to long ago and am trying to find a trainer for him.  I do not have the space or the knowledge to train him properly.  I was thinking that this year is kinda a wash for me anyways because of my work schedule so I was thinking that I could get him trained up starting in like December maybe.  If you guys have any suggestions or could recommend someone I would greatly appreciate it.

For trainers I would talk to Jerry Arlington, he's down in grandview. Great guy and has some really great dogs. You can find his web site on gundogbreeders.com  go to- find breeders, select state, and Arlington Kennels

My lab pup was trained by Scott at Upland Dogs in Ellensburg, this summer.  He did a fantastic job with her.  Went out for the pheasant opener this weekend, and she was a pheasant machine.  Did pretty well with some ducks, also.

Their website is http://uplanddogs.com/index.html

They treat the dogs well, the dogs have fun and they're put on a lot of birds.  Best money I've ever spent for hunting.

Dunfur Kennels near Cheney, WA.

This is where my pup was trained.  If your pup has any hunt in him, Dan will bring out his best.  He's a good guy and great trainer.  Look up his site dunfur.com, his dogs have done some great things.

I am a big fan of John Greer in Ellensburg. John trained my screw loose five year old GSP and now she is an incredible hunter and is a great dog to be around! He will turn your dog into a hunting machine!!
