Little hint when buying Sliver Horde plugs, Look at the mold lines front to back. Need a slight offset to the right in the tail section. Those plugs will catch fish. Also take a file and Lightly file the bottom third of the lip. I have a white #126 that has many teeth mark from many salmon that you could not buy for any price. Fished plugs for forty+ years for kings. Got and old glow Orca plug that has done me well at Sekiu.
Take a kid hunting or fishing, Pass it on, it's not yours to keep!

Techno challenged right now,the desktops blown up and I need some sort of gizmo for the laptop to get pictures on it.What I remember about the pearl wobbler is this,he had a few,and one that really caught fish including a couple of derby winners. My uncle stepped on it and broke it one day and you should have heard the cussing that followed it.He's also got some antique polar bear hair bucktail flys that caught alot of fish too,the green and white one looks pretty rough,it caught the most.Same holds true today though certain gear while looking exactly the same right out of the package seems to fish better than others.I'm talking about flashers and spoons. My Dad has a Charley White that has seen miles and miles of underwater travel and never  hooked a thing,I've got some silver horde plugs that have been drug around a ton and never so much as a strike.

*L* some of us are showing are age.....
My dad has some pearl wobblers,he's got some of those sinkers too.
If my memory serves me, and it's been wrong before.......Lucky Louie, is an old name..seem they also made a lure......but old, 40-50 years old...... anyone got one of the ole Pearl Wobbler's??? It was a  spoon made out of Abalone shell.  Those were cool!
If you could, chuck up a pic, for the youngins!
My dad said the same thing about the wobbler's. Apparently they were not all created equal, but when making a spoon out of natural materials, consistency is hard to come by.  But when you found one that caught fish, you guarded it with your life.

I got lots of Lucky Louie plugs and some in the orig box as well as pearl wablers. Often wonder why they wouldn't work now. I got them from my grandpa's fishing boxes and he was a serious salmon fisherman in the 50, 60, and 70's.

Largest King I've ever caught was on a Lucky Louis J Plug Pearl w/Pink stripe and one eye missing.  My grandfather had given me a half dozen or so back in the early 80's.  One day I figured I'd see if they really worked in open water.  That fish absolutely slammed the thing.  I've tried a good number of the newer plastic J-plugs hoping they would be the same as grandpa's old wooden plugs.  Just never seemed to work like those vintage plugs did.

I remember our salmon scale would not go high enough to get a weight on the big slab.  Had to use our butt scale.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I have a ton of Minser's Lucky Louie stuff.  My Grandpa was buddies with him many years ago and use to fish with him out of Ilwaco and and the Columbia.  I have all the plugs still in their boxes stashed away somewhere in the barn.

I think i have seen them out at a place called junkys out in westport. He has all sorts of old fishung stuff.  If you ever go out there stop in and look around and ask him if you can go up stairs and look around.
