I'm lucky to get 3 inch groups with mine.  I haven't tried anything but the cheapest ammo I could find though.

I took an inexpensive stock Remington 597 out last year and tried 10 different ammo types in it.  I found a pretty big difference in the group sizes the different ammo provided.  here are the results (I bought a bunch of the CCI blazer ammo after this test.  nice when your gun likes the cheap stuff!):

I have an old Win 75 target  that will do 1-2" groups off the bench with just about anything I feed it. Absolutely can't have ant wind tho.

Benelli  It would outshoot my 10/22 without trying

That's an extra good Benelli. (assume you're talking about an MP95 or MP90) I have shot several of them that will hold .5moa at 50yds, and several Hammerli's that will do the same. Pardini's not as good. But dime sized groups at 100yds from any standard velocity 22 rimfire is exceptional. -Again, Wind drift is your enemy.
 
John, if you've got a Benelli, then why are you not competitive in winter Bullseye league at Custer? Contact me after hunting seasons if you're in the area and want to strut your stuff.

I had it a couple years with full intention of doing bullseye again, but aparently the place is always packed, so I just never went, then sold the benelli. I still have a good .22 for bullseye, but just not to that high of a quality level.

I have seen a few CZ-452's shoot 1 inch and under out of the box and scoped but they are hard to repeat..generally 2-3 inches is a real good group with .22's that most of us would shoot. I'm not sure what the competition guns can do.

I wouldn't trade my 452 for anything.  i like to bring it along when i shoot clay pigeons with my shotguns, i'll line up the spent hulls and pick them off with the .22 at 50 yards
