Hood Canal

Anyone been crabbing out in the Canal? We have not been doing too good out there. Just wanted to see if anyone else is getting skunked?  :dunno:

Yeah we were out there last weekend, Seems the dungy's have virtually dissapeared. According to the locals. Could be just hearsay but I guess this year the natives got to drop a few 1000 pots before our season and just wiped em out.
Talked to a few divers out there though and according to them, coming up the straight right now are some of the largest numbers of dungys they have ever seen moving along. :dunno: All hearsay though, no evidence to go with it.
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.

The natives hammered them, then 4th of July weekend the sporties hammered them.

You are not alone in the slow crabbin.

Mid to northern part of the canal is fine. Easy limits when I have gone. A few in the 8" range. Average 50-60ft, with some out to 90.
