Rifles as wedding gifts

Do you know for a fact that neither is a felon or has any restriction regarding owning a firearm? That would be a problem for you.

I dunno, I kind of think it is a bit personal myself.  But, as long as you didn't expect them to hunt with the rifles just because you bought them, I guess it would be very cool.  Like a matching set of Winchester 94's in 30-30 or something classic and cool like that...

I think any kind of firearm is good stock. Kind of like buying gold. Even if they don't like them, they still have cash value or a good tool. I don't expect them to treat them like there one and only best rifle or anything. Neither bride or groom have a decent hunting rifle, they're both young and they both want to hunt, soooo....

I think I will get her a .243 because she's kind of a weenie about recoil and rifle weight and him I think I will get him a .270 or 30-06, haven't decided yet. Either one, I don't want to get all exotic or expensive.

My husband is the best man and I'm a brides maid if that gives you any idea how close we are. I want to do it, I just have to convince him it's not that personal... it's a free firearm for god sake's!

I think it's a great idea! go with the 06 as it can cover all of his needs even though I've only owned 2 that I rebarreled without shooting, I still think it's one of the best all around cartridges.

I still have a certificate for a matched pair of rifles as a wedding gift. They were to be in .35 Wheeling and .243 Win after 33+ years nada.

I think it's a great idea. I'd love to have a nice firearm for any occasion, preferrably they put the budget for my rifle and my wife to be rifles together, and buy ME an even better rifle.
