looking at pics on smart phone
« on: August 03, 2013, 09:05:49 AM »

I put out my first trail cams.. yah. I have a smart phone with a micro usb port and on labeled HDMI, I did a brief search and couldn't find an adapter for the SD card from the camera to my phone. Any ideas or past success?

WT, the newer smartphones (Android) like the Note 2 and Samsung GS3 allow the following solution.  I use a micro usb to standard male usb cable tied to a IOGEAR standard USB to SD and Micro SD adapter.  Insert your SD card into the adapter, connect to cable and connect the micro usb to your mobile.  Your phone will pop up a screen to view the files as a separate drive.  You can view all photos/videos, select the ones you want to save to your phone's memory card and delete the ones you want.  Works great.

Pygmy, thanks for the tip. I've got a Razor that should work.  I just went by Fredmyers and couldn't find the hardware you mentioned, it's not really a tech store granted, can you recommend a store to get it at. I'm in the Bothell area.

I have a Razor and i just use micro SD and put them right into my phone and view them that way. Works fine for me.

Has anyone done something like this with the iPhone 5? I just keep seeing that they make a conector for it but it only works with the iPad not the iPhone.

Yes. It only works with the iPad and not the iPhone.

The iPhones don't have any sort of micro SD card to plug into as mentioned above. With that said, the adapter for the iPad works swell.

coreytdf: Do your cameras take micro sd or regular sd? Mine take regular sd, so would I use an sd to micro sd adapter in the camera?
