Rumors clockum

Heard rumors clockum might close this year because of fire?
Not sure if true    But the fire has consumed most of the wintering area

More reason to allow a significant harvest to minimize winter starvation, IMHO.

tell me where in the clockum you have seen them haul hay too??? If we don't get any late rains those elk will be swimming the river at west bar and crossing the freeway heading toward the firing center and Hanford.

They haul hay to them right along the river at the feeding station. This fire had zero effect on the wintering elk, there is just to much ground out there for them to feed on. Also, by the time the elk move down the burnt area will be lush with new grass in october.

That must be on the Wenatchee side the majority of that herd winter on the wheat field south to whiskey dick and I know there is no feeding station on kittitas side.

As for winter range the fire burned a majority of the winter grounds for these elk not saying a good rain won't help but  there could be a lot  of issues later part of winter for them.
