  My Rem 700 Stock Needs Help.  What Is The Best Way To Clean Out The Checkering?

  Any Certain Products To Suggest?

Some chemical finish stripper applied over the checkered area, then a stiff bristle tooth brush or simuliar (non-metal bristle) and brush clean.  Shouldn't damage the checkering and will get the old finish off and down to bare wood.
It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

I have seen several Remington's with the checkering filled level with finish.  looks ugly I vote for a nice hand rubbed oil when you get it stripped argie1891
