I thought the same as you, but I ultimately started on a Lee hand press with regular dies. It can be done with the classic loader (youtube it), but it is pretty slow, and the thought of seating primers that way is a bit unnerving, for me. For a little more money, the Lee handpress and dies would give you a bit more flexibility (Mine came with the press mounted priming die.).
IIRC, the classic loader comes with a Lee dipper, so that you can dispense with the need for a scale. But I'd prefer to weigh charges individually, or check the measure with a scale.
