GoPro Salmon Strike: Update, Take Two....You gonna love it!
« on: August 17, 2013, 02:12:14 PM »
Not the best but it is a starting point. It was a windy and wavey morning. Don't blink!

Right around the 15 second mark....

Ahh ok I seen it, just barely though.
Little tip, just incase you don't know. For lowlight like that, use the lowest FPS you can, It has a longer exposure rating so it picks up more detail. Highest FPS for brighter conditions.
Next time you go out, Try the 1080p 24fps
If your outside or just on-board, do the 1080 60fps - 720p 120fps -

*I just noticed on the Gopro website while looking at your camera options.

Try one of these in low light and do some tests. I noticed how low the FPS and It may work really good. Its in protune mode.
4K Cinema (17:9)    -  12, 12.5, 15 fps available.
4K (16:9)

I just read on some other gopro forums, the 4k does help improve low light detail but due to the slow FPS sometimes the videos come out slightly choppy.

I know some other products that could help improve your video picture for fishing x10. Let me do alittle research first before I give you an exact one.

Ive been reading about these for awhile and Im gonna pick one up as soon as I can afford it for fishing myself..
http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/Products/blurfix3-so-naked.aspx
This allow's you to be able to attach filters to your camera for editing free color correction..

http://www.snakeriverprototyping.com/Products/urpro-gr-filter.aspx
This filter color "red" will remove most of the blue/green color from the water and give it a more natural look instead of being washed out by any specific color..

Here's a video demonstration.

Maybe try it with the flasher closer to the camera, looks like you're a long way back.

That was my thought as well, looks a lot farther than 15'.  I guess that is part of the prob with the gopros wide angle lens.  Look forward to more.

This is a video i did a couple years ago.  I had my lure about 12 feet back.  I used a Contour camera only because my room mate works there and gave me a free camera.

Can cut that in half by putting it to narrow picture mode. Zooms in about 2x compaired to standard picture. Standard is considered "ultra wide fov".
