I may need some advice. I have some elk that have been in this small clearing between 4 am and noon on my cam. They are entering from the north side and the trail I made to get into my stand is on the south side. It's way too thick to get to the north side of them in the dark, and the prevailing wind seems to be from nnw. I set up a treestand 20-30 yards from there entrance thinking it would be an evening spot. How would you guys approach this?
My ideas are to say forget the stand and try to slowly stalk in, there is some good cover but not sure I can be quiet enough.
Or get to my stand at 3am before they get there and hope they will come in after that and stay till shooting time.
Thanks!!!
