11 yards with a rifle. Can't wait to read how it went down!

Good for you. That's my old stomping grounds when I lived near Kapowsin. Never saw 1 bear there in 12 years, only elk and deer.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Ok sorry for the delay on the story i had problems with the system today.

So it all started on sunday when my buddy and i were out and we decided to try out a new road. We rolled down the road at about 1pm and saw a big boar on a side road. We bailed out of the truck after it and Ben was able to get a shot but nicked a tree and missed. Then he spotted another one but had no shot. So yesterday i decided after work to go out but my wife wanted to go with so i had to wait for her to get home. While i was waiting i did some work on my lawnmower and spilled gas all over my hands. I tried my best to wash it off but i still smelled like gas. Then my wife gets home and decides not to go so i finally head out.

I decide to walk the road rather than drive and started in. Just as i head down a grassy road i hear what sounds like a bear tearing up a log. Safety comes off and im looking in the brush trying to figure out what is making all the noise. Turns out its elk. So i calm myself down and continue on.

I am all most to the end of the road in some timber and i hear something to my right and look over and there he is walking parallel to the road in the direction i just came from. He went behind a stump and i took a couple steps back and he came around the stump and when i threw up my 300 all i saw was black in the scope. I picked out his head and he was walking right at me then he turned and i put his sleeping pill right behind the shoulder. He went about 20 yards and was done.

I took him in to the butcher today and he weighed in at about 290lbs walking weight.

This is my favorite pic of him.
