Weyco Lands
« on: August 27, 2013, 08:59:24 PM »
Any guesses if they will at least open up their woods for walk in hunting next week?  I myself was not planning to hunt those lands to begin with, but the portion of Mossyrock I was in last week was fine.  Rain and cooler temps are forecasted in the coming days. If I remember correctly, last year was a fire waiting to happen and Weyco lands were open for the first week at least. Just wondering.  :dunno:

They certainly hav no excuse to NOT open it up. But my guess is they won't.
Actually, I'll give it a 50/50 chance of opening by September 3rd.

Spoke with Weyco security this evening he said they told him they plan to open for walk in for archery if we receive the rain forecasted. I asked how much rain is enough. He said he has no idea what their limits are based on....

With all the rain they better open it up to walk in only. The fire Dept changed there fire watch to moderate now that we got rain. I will keep praying for more rain!!
