Any news, rumors, scuttlebut on possible lifting of closures around Rimrock this weekend?

FS still says NO access up 1000, or 1204 &1205 rds! They had guards standing watch 24/7 over the weekend.

Rimrock will be fine.. What do you guys not understand about this area is huge, with lots of access and elk in the whole unit. Maybe ill not hunt my spot in bumping and head over to rimrock if everyone is going elsewhere. :dunno:

Yes, it's a big unit, but Conrad (1000 rd) and Pinegrass (1204 and 1205 rds) are closed from Tieton Rd to the top.  Takes out about 50% of the unit and a lot of good hunting opportunity.

The question has been asked of the FS (i.e., can we walk or Mt. bike into closed areas).  The fire management team have not provided definitive answer yet.  BTW, I agree w/your sentiments about Conrad.

I suspect there are a lot of us and many others not on this forum that had no intention to go anywhere near Conrad who find themselves scrambling because the ROADS they use to get to their traditionally succesful areas are closed as are their campsites. There's no question one can go to other places within or outside of RR (unless one has a bull tag), we're just kind of scrambling around trying to get a feel for what to plan for. Especially when we plan and look forward to this ALL YEAR LONG........................like most of us on this site I expect.

I just want to get my trail cam back. I left it down near cirque lake. What a bummer.
If it looks fishy, fish it. If it doesn't look fishy, fish it anyway!
