Congrats to the hunter.

This topic is a testament of why many hunters will not post a photo or story of their trophies. There are too many jealous and negative people waiting to pounce on anyone who gets the animal of a lifetime. No thanks to them and their poor attitudes.   :bash:
There you have it!!!

Maybe this will help the thread die.  The hunter was an older gentleman that has killed many elk in his years.  Hunted his whole life like the rest of us....looking for the bull of his lifetime.  He got it and stated "I don't care if i ever kill another bull, I'm fine with cows from here on out".  He didn't shoot it in Silver Dollar, and he didn't pay fees of any type.  This is a guy that's spent his life hunting deer and elk.  I've watched him use his horses to pack elk for people he'd just met, and only wanted a "thank you" when done.  Those that he wanted to share his success with have seen the pictures.  He's paid his dues and doesn't deserve to be judged.  The few people that have the pictures haven't posted them as a sign of the respect they have for him.  Sure going to miss all the speculation though!!! A few of you did a great job of trying to turn the attention to yourself.  Good luck this season to all!!!

Those of you that know the hunter or if he is on here tell him congrats!!!!! I know exactly how he feels. I haven't hunted for elk all that long (around 7 years) but got a bull with my bow last year and feel the same way. Could care less about the antlers now. Meat was actually a little tough on the bull I shot  ;)

Congrats to the hunter! But I really wouldn't give two chits about what guys thought if I legally shot any animal, much less a 390 bull.

The story has been set straight now, when you just get a plain post about a 390 bull being shot of course people are going to speculate. But now that the somewhat story has been posted by someone who knows the shooter I don't really see how anybody could really say anything bad. And if they did they would just get flamed by members on here. I say post the pictures and share what you waited so long to accomplish it obviously sounds like you earned it and have waited for this bull for along time and there are plenty of people on here who are going to congratulate you.

Well, all I know is I've never gotten a bull that big so I'm sure he cheated....    :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

Why do some on this site INSIST on calling anybody's achievement into question without knowing anything about it.

Personally, I'd post a pic for the benefit of the decent, and the idiots could pound sand.

I just really wish that we as a hunting community would quit this stupid behavior.

And yeah, I'll admit it:  If I had private land access to a 390 bull, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

P.S.   Hardy congrats to the hunter.   May  the memories stay crisp and clear for many years to come.
