Anyone heard of Barbour outfitters in graham wa?
« on: August 31, 2013, 01:10:52 AM »
I just booked my youth daughters first archery elk hunt with Shane barbour of Barbour outfitters out of graham WA I'm wondering if any one had any info on this outfit? Are the legit? Or did I get ripped off, and my youth hunter a bad taste in her mouth, and disappointed ?

Why is the phrase "Are they legit?" written verbatim in every post started about Barbour?  And always followed by an incomplete sentence  :dunno:  Mods might want to look at this one!

Why would you ask such a question if you already booked a hunt with them?  Did they give you a reason to question your decision?  I don't mean to be rude if this is a legitimate question, but something smells a little fishy to me.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Well the reason why I asked is I found him on Craigslist and his web site is not very informational ? I'm just asking an honest question and if anyone here has used his services before and if so some feed back

What was said? Did you pay money for something? Need a better archery shop to go to that's somewhat local?

I have no first hand knowledge of the outfit.  So I can not give you any real answers.  Though I do know most threads about this service start the exact same way, with the exact same verbiage and usually end up locked.  So I apologies for questioning good intensions.

As a former guide I can tell you that Youth Archery Elk is one of the more difficult guide related challenges.  Good luck and I hope all works out for your youth hunter!

I have a friend who just started guiding for this company. He is also a member on here but with a lot of negative posts about this company I don't will not name him. Hopefully you will get everything you hoped for. Keep us informed on how it goes.

I met the guy who runs this outfitter a few times. He worked at sportsmans in Puyallup. He gave me a card and I was shown some pics from a few trail cams of very impressive animals. Although the owner came across cocky and rude, I know one of. The guys that works for him that is a really good guy and knows his stuff.

Let me add I am in no way shape or form endorsing this company. I personally got a uneasy feeling from the owner, but I wanted to state some factual imformation and not just my opinion.

teegansdad, I hope that your daughters have a great hunt. This topic has come up before on this forum and there was a lot of comments made by some members who knew very little about the outfitter. You could do everyone a service by taking a few photos of your girls while hunting, any game that you get, and by reporting back with comments about your hunt. Good or bad, your factual comments and any photos would be greatly appreciated. Good Luck, I hope your girls have a blast whether they take an animal or not.

monster bulls and bildo5,
Sounds like you have a dad bringing two daughters hunting, I'm hoping they can report back to the forum about a good experience. Good luck to you all!
